Kirkland Library wins 2nd prize for its TD Summer Reading Club Program

At a ceremony held in Jasper, Alberta on Saturday, April 30, the Kirkland Library was awarded second prize for its 2015 TD Summer Reading Club program in the English category. The Kirkland Library was selected among submissions from 2000 public libraries from across Canada to receive this honour, along with a $2,500 prize that the library can invest in future programs and activities, an honorary plaque and recognition at the national level.

The Town of Kirkland wishes to congratulate all 470 children who contributed to the success of this summer reading program, as well as the Library staff for their creativity in administering the program.

The TD Summer Reading Club Library Awards recognize and reward each year the most innovative and effective TD Summer Reading Club programs in local public libraries across Canada. In 2011, the Kirkland Library won first prize in this contest for its French Summer Reading Program.
