Interview with Katherine Fitz O’Neil one of the Montrealers stuck in Haiti.
Katherine’s text: A team of 8 nurses from Canada, Aundrea Trevors (Nova Scotia), Katherine Fitz O’Neil (Montreal, Quebec), Marie Nieminen, Kirsten Nieminen, Lisa Sturdy, Lauren Davey, Tracey Hotta, Charline Ramgotra (Ontario), and the mission leaders, Heather and Gord Rodin (Ontario), are in Petit Paradis, at Hope Grows Mission, in the Grand Goave area of Haiti. They do not have safe passage to the Port Au Prince airport to fly back. The Canadian Embassy in Haiti closed days ago without informing them, despite registering with the embassy. Phone calls to the embassy are redirected to Global Affairs in Ottawa. Global affairs have not helped in any way. Please put pressure on our government to help them. Pleas can be made to the Haitian people to assure safe passage to the airport for them, and a flight could be chartered to bring them home to us.
