Joe Jonas Files for Divorce from Actress Sophie Turner

After four years of wedded bliss and two shared children, Joe Jonas, one-third of the famed Jonas Brothers band, has decided to end his marriage with Sophie Turner, known for her roles on “Game of Thrones” and the “X-Men” franchise. The paperwork detailing the dissolution of their union was submitted in Florida’s Miami-Dade County Court this Tuesday.

According to the documents, the marriage is said to be “irretrievably broken.” Their nuptials, previously a well-kept secret, took place in the famed Las Vegas wedding chapels on the first day of May in 2019, shortly following the Billboard Music Awards. The celebration was made memorable by the performance of popular country duo Dan + Shay.

The subsequent years gifted them with two daughters, Willa, welcomed in 2020, and a second child the following year, whose name they have chosen to keep to themselves. As stated within the divorce documents, Jonas seeks joint custody of the young girls. The couple had taken the measure of protecting their assets with a prenuptial agreement, which Jonas firmly believes will be upheld.

Regarding any commentary on the matter, representatives for Jonas and Turner remained silent, with no immediate response to requests for statements.

Both Jonas and Turner have previously shared that mutual acquaintances had eagerly attempted to introduce them prior to the start of their virtual correspondence in 2016. After their first in-person meeting in October of the same year, they became an exclusive couple by December and formally announced their intent to marry a year later.

Turner, a native of Northampton, England, captured hearts worldwide through her portrayal of Sansa Stark over eight seasons of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and as Jean Grey in two of the “X-Men” movies. Jonas, hailing from Arizona, soared to fame alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin, first as a band leading the 2005 pop wave, then sweeping the Disney Channel. Presently, the brothers are touring U.S. stadiums following the release of their sixth studio album in May.
