Many DDO residents came to celebrate the inauguration of the Lake Road Park splash pad, a quality of life project which the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux is very proud of.

This splash pad was the fruit of many analyses which allowed the members of the City’s council to give the green light for its creation. It has an area of approximately 4,600 square feet and cost the City approximately $975,000. Inspired by a jungle theme, those who venture into it will make a trip to the depths of the jungle, then be led to a gently flowing river surrounded by wild animals.

This new installation is divided into three zones: one for toddlers, one for the family, and an active zone geared towards teens. It can accommodate more than 75 people at a time, is accessible for individuals with disabilities, and will remain open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until mid-October. Picnic tables and shaded areas have also onsite to maximize the families’ enjoyment of the space.

During the event, Mayor Alex Bottausci recognized the work done by the employees of the City. “The common vision of our council is to improve the quality of life of our residents, to create spaces that allow them to enjoy and embrace their city. Splash pads are the result of excellent work by City employees to create a place for residents to meet and play.”

The official opening of the splash pad at Lake Road Park was a success, with more than 50 people attending. The City thanks all those who were present and is pleased to have been able to provide for the needs of its community.
