Hustler Casino Live Co-Owner Denounces Jimmy Butler’s Rude Poker Show Behavior

Nick Vertucci, co-owner of Hustler Casino Live (HCL), expressed strong disapproval of Miami Heat small forward Jimmy Butler’s behavior during his recent appearance on the popular poker show. Vertucci made clear his stance: “I don’t care how many viewers he brings. I don’t want him back. He was rude to the dealers. He was rude to the other players. He was rude to the staff.”

Butler’s debut on HCL, which occurred on June 22, was meant to be a star-studded event featuring Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar Jr., boxers Chris Eubank Jr. and Ryan Garcia, and internet personality Dan Bilzerian, among others. However, Butler left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons, according to Vertucci.

During Monday’s poker stream, Vertucci detailed Butler’s conduct, which was subsequently shared in a widely viewed clip posted on the X platform by NBA content creator Rob Perez. Vertucci revealed that members of his staff had been alarmed by the clip and requested Perez to take it down. However, Vertucci opted to keep it public, even retweeting it himself.

Trouble began when Butler arrived at the Hustler Casino and found that Neymar had not yet arrived. Rather than participate in the game, Butler sat passively for an hour and a half, waiting for the Brazilian soccer star. Upon Neymar’s arrival, Butler demanded to be seated closer to him.

Once he started playing, Butler appeared to misunderstand certain poker strategies, particularly the frequent use of straddling by other players, which led to his growing frustration. He became visibly upset during a game variation known as the “standup game” and eventually stormed off, announcing, “Fk this!” Vertucci, who was at another table, was alerted to the situation and approached Butler to offer assistance, only to be met with hostility. Butler responded, “Yeah, the first thing is get your hand off my fking arm … If you want to help me, go get my f**king chips.”

Other grievances Vertucci levied against Butler included his dismissive treatment of a young NBA fan and his entourage allegedly filming Butler as he distributed $100 bills, only to reclaim them later. Vertucci also criticized Butler’s overly conservative approach to the game and his immediate departure after winning a $174,000 pot from Neymar, actions deemed poor poker etiquette.

In conclusion, Vertucci emphasized his decision: “I don’t want him back.”
