What a terrific year it’s been for the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation! In January, they inaugurated four new Intensive Care rooms with the help of their generous donors. Now, they are pleased and excited to announce the opening of a new state-of-the-art Multifunctional Radiology Room! This is another great moment for the Foundation, the Hospital and the West Island community.
The development of this new room brings a great sense of pride, as it is a remarkable achievement that reflects the incredible collective efforts made in recent years. This new room at the cutting edge of technology includes specialized diagnostic equipment, which facilitates image-guided procedures with the Artis Zee MP system from Siemens.
For our community, this room represents a significant advantage, as it allows, among other things, a greater number of on-site treatments. Patients can now receive the highest quality of care close to home. No more transfers or travelling downtown to other facilities. In addition, this innovative technology may offer an alternative to conventional surgery. It includes less invasive procedures, a reduction in the waiting period, improved recovery time, and ultimately reduces hospitalization time.
Projects like this give full meaning to the LGH Foundation mission and reaffirms its purpose. What a rewarding mission it is to work hand in hand with donors, with the various levels of government and with community partners. The LGH Foundation is extremely grateful to the Eric T. Webster Foundation for their vision and for offering immeasurable support, every step of the way. Without them, this project would not have seen the light of day.
