A High Prairie woman experienced a life-changing moment when she realized she had won $600,000 on Lightning Lotto. Rose Belyan, who has been a devoted player since the game’s launch this spring, picked up a lottery ticket on her way to work on August 8th. To her astonishment, she discovered she had hit the jackpot, winning a little over $615,000.
“I was late for work and had stopped to buy it on the way,” Belyan recounted. “The cashier told me I’d won, and I looked at the screen and started reading the number and was shocked.”
Although she hasn’t decided exactly how she’ll allocate her newfound fortune, Belyan plans to share her windfall with family and friends.
“This will help me help a lot of people in my life,” she said. “It’s just perfect. A perfect feeling.”
