A frantic search for a 31-year-old Grand Bay-Westfield woman has reached a sad end.
A body recently discovered in Martinon last weekend is said to be that of the 31-year-old who was reported missing two months ago, police said during a press briefing.
The Police’s releases did not name the woman, but the body belongs to Andrea Limkilde, aged 31, who was last seen on the 5th of February in an area that is a minute away from where the body was found.
Andrea was reported as missing to the RCMP on the 9th of February, which prompted various searches involving the Police canine unit together with rescue crew and ground searches. Community volunteers also turned up for the search exercise.
An autopsy was done to ascertain the body’s identification that a hiker discovered in the Saint John Police Jurisdiction last Saturday at around 3:30pm, this is according to police spokesperson Jim Hennessy.
Police do not suspect foul play. The investigation has been completed, but police did not release that information, the spokesperson said.
Local media could not reach her family immediately for a response, but her obituary read that her passing was saddening and heartbreaking.
The local police force sent its condolences to the family saying they are with them during this difficult time.
