Fun in Pointe Claire this Friday and Saturday to celebrate 2 day Earth Day celebration

FREE DISTRIBUTION OF 575 TREES TOO!

On Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m., a puppet show will be presented at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre for children aged 5 to 12, where fun and colourful creatures are born and evolve in a world of plastic bags. Free tickets for this activity are available at Stewart Hall.

On Saturday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Public Works yard at 50 Terra-Cotta Avenue, there will be a free distribution of 575 trees of 12 different species (one tree per household) and 100 barrels for collecting rainwater, compost, wood chips and cones for the recovery of organic matter. The MULTI card is required as proof of residence. Rainwater collection barrels will also be on sale at the reduced price of $40 once the first 100 have been distributed.

At 9 a.m. on the same day, a cleaning bee will take place in Terra-Cotta Park in cooperation with the Guides and Scouts, followed by the planting of 250 trees at 11 a.m. The meeting point will be at the park entrance on Terra-Cotta Avenue. Bring along your shovel, reusable water bottle and gloves.

At 1 p.m., there will be an art workshop entitled Community cARTography, where everyone will be invited to contribute to the creation of a collective mural on the theme of water, a distinctive element of the Canadian identity, with artist Emmanuelle Jacques. At 1:30 p.m. (in English) and 3:30 p.m. (in French), a storytelling activity will be offered at the Library – Valois Branch, once again on the theme of water. This activity is free for members and registration is required at the Library.
