Free museum passes!

1354

During Hooked on School Days in February, the Regroupement lavallois pour la réussite éducative (RLPRE) received 800 family passes from the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and is offering the free passes to organizations that work with Laval’s youth and their families.

Through its generous donation, the world-renowned museum wishes to contribute to the educational success of Laval’s young and old by giving them access to its artistic, historical and cultural exhibitions. Studies have shown that being exposed to the arts has a positive impact on school perseverance as well as reasoning, adaptation abilities and self-esteem. Participating in cultural and artistic activities not only improves students’ academic results, but also increases their chances for professional success as adults.

In the coming weeks, the RLPRE will be distributing the family passes to Laval organizations. It hopes to encourage the participation of families for whom a visit to the museum is not a habitual activity. Each family pass allows access for up to two adults and two children aged 13 to 17.

Admittance is free for children aged 12 and under. To obtain passes, interested parties must contact the RLPRE by phone at 450 662-7000, ext. 1270, or by email at irclaval@cslaval.qc.ca. Requests on behalf of private individuals will not be accepted.

The Regroupement lavallois pour la réussite éducative (RLPRE) is a regional joint-action body whose mission is to foster engagement and support local and regional initiatives to improve student retention and academic achievement among young people and adults in Laval. It also raises awareness among all Laval residents of the importance of their contributions to academic achievement.
