Ben Mizrachi, hailing originally from Vancouver, has been reported missing in Israel subsequent to the attack that occurred this past Saturday. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, without revealing additional information as per the request of Mizrachi’s family, has verified the incident’s legitimacy.

The initial report of Mizrachi’s disappearance surfaced in a social media post made by Vancouver’s King David High School on Saturday, where Mizrachi is a former student. The school implored its community to pray for Mizrachi’s wellbeing and safety.

The school’s post read, “We call for extra prayers for King David alumni, Ben Mizrachi, a member of the Class of 2018. Ben was attending a local event in southern Israel and has since been reported missing. We ask that you hold Ben and his family in your prayers.”

According to an update by Global Affairs Canada on Sunday, it has been made aware of reports indicating the death of one Canadian and the disappearance of two others amidst the conflict that erupted on Saturday. The officials are actively working to confirm the veracity of this information.

Current records indicate that there are 1,419 Canadian nationals registered in Israel and a further 492 in the Palestinian territories. However, Global Affairs Canada advises that these figures might be lacking due to the voluntary nature of the registration process.

Since the onset of the conflict, the agency has responded to 429 inquiries relating to travel advice, advisories for Israel and Gaza, the airport’s status and flights, the overall security situation in the region, and available options for evacuation.

Global Affairs Canada is advising Canadians stationed within Israel, along with the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, to take shelter, restrict their movements, and remain updated on the situation via local news sources.
