According to a statement from Las Vegas police, the incident occurred around 2:40 a.m., and the victim was swiftly taken to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made thus far. The shooting took place in a neighborhood situated approximately 10 miles south of the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
A representative for Lee confirmed the unfortunate event, stating that Lee was conscious and is expected to make a full recovery. The statement also requested privacy for Lee and his family during this challenging time, as the police continue their investigation. Amanda Cagan, Lee’s representative, provided additional details, revealing that the shooting happened while Lee was out walking his dog.
Tim Heyne, the manager of Lee’s rock band, Red Dragon Cartel, reassured fans, noting that no major organs were hit and that Lee is fully responsive. “By the grace of God, no major organs were hit, he’s fully responsive, and expected to make a full recovery,” Heyne shared with The Associated Press.
Jake E. Lee, born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in San Diego, is a 67-year-old musician who made significant contributions to the glam metal scene in Los Angeles during the 1980s. He played in several bands, including an early version of Ratt, before joining Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 1982. Lee remained with Osbourne until 1987, contributing to notable albums such as 1983’s “Bark at the Moon.” Following his tenure with Osbourne, Lee played in the metal band Badlands and embarked on a solo career, releasing two albums. Most recently, he has been the frontman for Red Dragon Cartel.
