Four families found themselves in the hands of the Red Cross on Monday night after a fire ravaged a residential complex in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
The flames originated around 9:00 pm in a dwelling on the third and top floor of a building on Sources Road and quickly spread to the roof of the building.
The prompt intervention of firefighters limited the damage. According to Montreal Fire Chief Christian Legault, the smoke and water damage was limited to only four apartments.
Families in these dwellings will not be able to return to the premises. The Red Cross has intervened to assist the families.
