In Indianapolis, Kelsey Mitchell delivered an impressive 27 points, Caitlin Clark contributed 23 points and nine assists, and Lexie Hull scored 12 of her career-high 22 points in the fourth quarter on Sunday, propelling the Indiana Fever to a 92-75 triumph over the Seattle Storm.

Clark, with 232 assists this season, shattered the previous WNBA rookie record of 224 set by Ticha Penicheiro in 1998. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft has scored at least 20 points in five of her last six games, consistently averaging 23.7 points on 47% shooting, alongside 11.7 assists per game during this period.

Mitchell was on fire, hitting 10 of 19 from the field and 5 of 8 from beyond the arc. Hull was equally effective, making 8 of 10 shots, including a career-high six 3-pointers. Aliyah Boston was a force on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds to complement her nine points and a career-high eight assists for Indiana.

Jewell Loyd’s jumper trimmed the Storm’s deficit to 61-60 with 9 minutes to go. In response, Indiana’s Damiris Dantas sank a free throw just over a minute later, Hull nailed two 3-pointers within 35 seconds, and Mitchell added another long-range shot. Boston then hit a short jumper, culminating in a 14-5 run and pushing the Fever to a 75-65 lead with 5:51 left.

Skylar Diggins-Smith quickly countered with consecutive buckets to reduce the gap to six points. However, Hull answered with back-to-back 3-pointers in a 31-second burst, igniting a 15-2 spree. Clark followed with a 3-pointer and assisted on treys by Mitchell and Dantas, which extended the Fever’s lead to 90-71 with just 2:24 remaining.

Loyd led Seattle (17-10) with 26 points, Diggins-Smith added 15, and Nneka Ogwumike contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals. Despite their efforts, the trio combined to shoot just 20 of 54 from the field, contributing to the Storm’s overall 38.9% field goal percentage (28 of 72).

Indiana (13-15) has equaled its 2023 win total with 12 games still left in the regular season. Coming off a monthlong hiatus for the Paris Olympics, the Fever have won back-to-back games and four of their last five, improving to 10-5 since starting the season with only three wins in their first 11 games.
