In a grievous incident, a motorist tragically lost their life when their vehicle ignited into flames in the region of Brant County on a Wednesday afternoon. The Ontario Provincial Police were alerted about the incendiary situation on Cockshutt Road at approximately 2.30 p.m.
The distressing situation was addressed by the swift intervention of paramedics, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as well as the Brant County Fire Department. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle ablaze, with the unfortunate driver trapped within. Despite the immediate response from these responders, the driver sadly succumbed to their sustained wounds and was declared dead on site.
According to the police, the inflamed vehicle was discovered on the roadside, leading them to surmise that it was not part of any collision incident. In light of the peculiar nature of this case, a fire marshal has been dispatched to the scene for added expertise, as announced by Jonathan Bueckert of the Brant County OPP.
The ensuing investigations have necessitated the closure of Cockshutt Road between Hagan Road and Burtch Road, including the intersection at Indian Line Cockshutt Road. Motorists are being urged by the police to steer clear of this area until further notice to facilitate smooth inquiry proceedings.
