Remember the end of last year when the crowd funding campaign hit Facebook and everywhere else for that matter? A Laval couple needed to raise close to $800,000 to get Matthew Schreindorfer to New York to get a much needed cancer treatment called CAR-T’s that was not available in Canada.
Their prayers were answered with the help and generosity of a community who heard them. Today Matthew is cancer free and looking forward to walking the in Light the Night walk, hosted by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), on October 17, that he could only witness from his bed last year.
He will walk as a survivor/warrior and has formed a team called MATT ATTACK and he wants to see everyone out there together again. He hopes to raise enough money to get the CAR-T’s treatment to Canada where more people like him are suffering from blood cancer.
“This year, I’M BACK, and ready to get my WALK ON with you all! It’ll also be a perfect opportunity to meet everyone that will attend!” he said in his latest Facebook post.
