Veteran actor Eric Roberts, known for his roles in “The Dark Knight” and “Runaway Train,” recently expressed his reluctance to discuss his famous family members, Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts, during an interview on the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast. When host Steve Kmetko inquired about his sister Julia, Eric answered, “You’ll have to ask her,” signaling a strict boundary regarding conversations about his family. He explained that Julia prefers privacy, saying, “I love my sister, but I can’t talk about her. She don’t want to talk about it.”

Eric, 68, went on to mention that his daughter Emma has also requested not to be a topic of discussion. “My daughter told me not to talk about her, but I stumble and do. I’m not supposed to talk about either of them, but I do,” he said. Despite these stipulations, Eric’s admiration for Emma could not be completely contained. Discussing her talent, Eric revealed, “I’m in love with my daughter’s work these days. Like, I can’t believe how great she’s become. I’m so proud of her I can’t see straight.”

This interview began to gain traction on social media three months post-release when the podcast shared a clip of Eric’s glowing remarks about Emma on Instagram. He continued to express his pride, saying, “Since her performance in ‘Maybe I Do’ until right now, she overwhelms me with pride and just, ‘Oh my god, here she goes again!’ And I’m just so happy to be her dad because she’s kicking ass, and I’m so proud.”

“Maybe I Do,” which hit theaters in January 2023, features an ensemble cast including Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and William H. Macy. Eric Roberts, who boasts over 700 acting credits, asserts that he had no hand in Emma’s successful career. “I have ‘absolutely nothing’ to do with her Hollywood roles. Except I gave her that name,” he insisted.

Emma Roberts, who spent her childhood visiting her aunt Julia on set, first gained public recognition as the star of Nickelodeon’s “Unfabulous” from 2004 to 2007. Her career has since flourished with roles in “Scream Queens,” “American Horror Story,” and the forthcoming film “Madame Web.” She also headlines the Amazon movie “Space Cadet,” a comedy about a bartender who fiendishly enters an astronaut training program. The film co-stars Gabrielle Union and Tom Hopper.

In a recent interview with Flaunt magazine, the 33-year-old Emma Roberts refuted the “nepo baby” label, commonly used to describe children of celebrities who seemingly benefit from their family’s industry ties. “I’ve lost more jobs than I’ve gained from being in the business,” Emma stated. “People have opinions and sometimes maybe they’re not good opinions of people in your family. I’ve never gotten a job because of it; I know I definitely have lost a couple of jobs because of it.”
