Montreal’s English School Board (EMSB) says it is doing its best to decide whether to rescind a clause in the document that outlines its position with regards to Bill 96.
The clause, published last Tuesday, denies that Quebec is a nation, which sparked considerable outrage from Bloc Quebecois members.
The board said it will congregate this Saturday, early morning, to cast votes so that the clause can be removed, its spokesperson, Mike Cohen, said.
However, the board noted that it will not be voting to recognize Quebec’s nation status, only to decide whether they should remove the controversial clause.
