Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Saanich Crosswalk Accident

In a tragic incident on Friday, a 55-year-old woman was fatally hit by a car while she was traversing a designated crosswalk in Saanich, the local police authorities reported.

As per the Saanich Police Department, the devastating accident transpired just before 9 p.m. at the convergence of Interurban and Grange roads.


Regrettably, the pedestrian was announced deceased at the very location of the accident.

The vehicle’s driver conscientiously remained at the scene of the crash. After an initial examination, neither high velocity nor driver intoxication are believed to have contributed to the unfortunate event, the police confirmed.
