The city has recalled 1,300 staff and is preparing to reopen Clareview, Commonwealth, Terwillegar, the Meadows, and the Kinsmen sports center.
On Thursday, these five locations will be opened for visitors. Those who decided to visit these places will be able to do individual workouts only. The city has restricted capacity in these locations to 33 percent of the fire code.
In order to be allowed to attend, the people will need to sign up for a time slot online or call 311. Also, physical distancing is required. Three meters of separation is required at recreation centers and two meters at all other facilities.
Although masks are required, the city will accept exemption letters from doctors for those who are not able to wear the mask for some particular reason.
The Edmonton Valley Zoo will be reopened on Thursday while the renovated Muttart Conservatory will start working once again on Friday. Next week, the Prince of Wales Armouries, Commonwealth Stadium, and Clarke Stadium will be reopened as well.
Edmonton will recall 1,300 staff who were laid off from recreation centers last year.
