Discovery of a Noose at MSG’s Construction Site in Nevada Leads to Concerns of Racism

Concerns of racist motivations have led MSG Entertainment Corp to investigate the unacceptable incident act on its construction site.

A noose was found on a beam at a construction site, next to the Venetian resort casino. It is still unclear when the noose was placed or who place it.

According to Rudy Cooper, the director of the program on Race, Gender and Policing at Boyd School of Law, the appearance of a noose is something to be taken seriously.

Cooper adds that nooses symbolize a time in history when white communities engaged in lynching and terrorizing black communities to maintain white dominance in business, politics, and culture.

Nooses were also spotted in another construction site of Amazon warehouse in Windsor, Connecticut. Construction work had to be halted after more nooses were discovered.

MSG Entertainment is building a sphere-shaped convection center estimated to cost $1.8 billion. The 17, 500 seat complex will stand next to Sands Expo and Convention Center on Las Vegas Strip. It is set to open in 2023.
