Daring Escape Sparks Manhunt for Two Tattooed Townsville Prisoners

In the tantalizing aftermath of a daring escape, two prisoners, Vaughn Hunter and Fabien Galigan, have successfully absconded from the low-security custody farm of Townsville Correctional Centre, North Queensland. The escape took place on Sunday around 9 pm, instigating a substantial manhunt.

Townsville District Officer Chief Superintendent, Chris Hodgman, disclosed the unsettling news on Monday. “Two prisoners have absolved themselves from the retainment of Townsville Correctional Facility,” he announced. Fugitives were glimpsed on security cameras along the Bruce Highway, leading to the employment of expert help in the pursuit of these individuals.

Superintendent Hodgman illuminated the gravity of their crimes. Hunter and Galigan are detained for “reasonably serious offences,” with a plea to the public not to engage them. “Please, do not approach these individuals. Practice caution and inform the police if you encounter these men,” advised Hodgman.

Hunter and Galigan were serving sentences of 10 months for a grave assault and two years and six months for a wounding offence respectively. A joint search party, including tactical crime squad officers, rapid action patrols, and investigators from Queensland Corrective Services, is combing the countryside in the hopes of recapturing the defiant duo.

The question of how these men were able to saunter out of the facility remains a mystery. Offering a description to aid the public in identification, Vaughan stands at a height of 179cm and weighs 61kg, while Galigan measures 165cm tall and tips the scale at 55kg. Both men are markedly tattooed, with Vaughn exhibiting a tattoo on his right cheek and his name on his neck and Galigan brandishing a face tattoo, arm, chest, and right leg tattoos.
