Damas – They know how to do Syrian food right

I am a tough sell when it comes to Arabic food, my mom is of British descent but learned as a young wife and mother how to cook from her Syrian mother-in-law.  So between these two top level cooks I take my Fatoush very seriously.

I can honestly say I was floored by how good Damas is.  I like the tapas style personally so I enjoyed the Kibbe, homous, baba and warm bread from the oven as my main meal.

Simply one of the best I have tasted in Montreal.

Our friends Fred and Gail insisted we try some of the main dishes such as roasted lamb and filet mignon.  Also very good but by that time I was happily stuffed with sumac fries!!

This is worth the drive from the West Island.  You absolutely need a reservation. The beautiful Middle Eastern decor is inviting and warm.

Enjoy!!

ps. when a restaurant uses pomegranate seeds to garnish you know they are using top quality ingredients and not skimping out….
