The Operations and Foundation Boards of the West Island Palliative Care Residence have appointed Ms. Dale Weil as the new Executive Director for the Residence, effective January 6, 2020.
Dale has been involved with the Residence for the last ten years, having served on both Boards in various capacities since 2009. Most recently, she played a significant role in helping to create the Montreal Institute for Palliative Care and has spent the last 18 months serving as Managing Director for the Institute. Dale brings with her more than 35 years of experience, including over 20 years in leadership positions in the food and healthcare sectors, along with extensive experience in the non-profit sector.

We are confident that Dale will ensure continuity as we provide our patients and their families with the compassionate care that the Residence is known for, while stewarding our many stakeholders and providing thought leadership in the community and at large,” added Mr. Van der Wee.
In partnership with the Boards and the Leadership Team, Dale will be responsible for overseeing the vision and setting a strategic direction for the Residence, the Foundation and of the Montreal Institute for Palliative Care, grounded in our underlying philosophy and values. Supported by the Leadership Team who will continue to manage the daily operations of the Residence, she will be accountable for the organization’s delivery of quality palliative care services as well as education and research to expand palliative care capacity, fundraising for long-term sustainability, community and government advocacy.

The West Island Palliative Care Residence is an independent, non-profit organization that provides services free of charge to patients and their families. The Residence receives one-third of its annual operational budget from the Quebec government and relies on community support and fundraising activities to raise the balance of more than 3.8 million dollars each year.
