The Ronin Network has formed a partnership with Transak to facilitate easier purchasing of NFTs and cryptocurrencies, thereby enhancing accessibility for blockchain gaming enthusiasts. This integration allows users to engage with the Ronin ecosystem through commonly used payment methods such as credit cards and Apple Pay, while also enabling direct fiat-to-NFT purchases via Transak’s NFT Checkout service. Gamers can now acquire Ronin’s native tokens, along with USD Coin, Wrapped Ether, and Smooth Love Potion, using a variety of payment options.
Etienne Gandon, Partnerships Manager at Transak, highlighted that the collaboration would provide gamers with necessary access to on-chain assets and in-game tokens. Central to this partnership is the inclusion of Transak’s NFT Checkout service in Mavis Market, Ronin’s NFT marketplace, allowing users to directly purchase digital assets with fiat currency, thus bypassing the need to initially acquire cryptocurrencies.
Gandon described this service as the most advanced fiat-to-NFT solution available, noting its ability to perform multiple NFT purchases in a single transaction and offering low buying limits. He further emphasized the potential of NFTs in creating digital ownership and enhancing community engagement and social identity.
Looking towards the future, Transak anticipates a trend of simplifying blockchain complexities within gaming platforms by 2025, which would facilitate seamless gamer interaction without the need to manage separate accounts, directly pay gas fees, or handle intricate on-chain transactions. The company intends to continue expanding its blockchain integrations based on market demand.
However, it’s noteworthy that Transak recently reported a data breach affecting 92,000 users, resulting from a phishing attack that compromised sensitive user information including names, birth dates, passports, driver’s licenses, and selfies.
