The City now benefits from a municipal Facebook page (www.facebook.com/citededorval) as well as a Facebook page for its library (www.facebook.com/bibliodorval). The Library’s unveiling of its presence on social media coincides with the Semaine des bibliothèques publiques (October 15 to 22). As of today, residents can access these pages to better inform themselves about their community and to learn more about the activities and events taking place near them.
The City and the Library’s Facebook pages will serve as additional communication tools that will aim to facilitate dialogue between citizens and the City of Dorval. They will relay relevant information concerning activities taking place in Dorval and share photos of them, while encouraging constructive and stimulating conversation.
“It was about time that Dorval modernized its way of communicating with its citizens,” said Mayor Edgar Rouleau. “The launch of the City and Library’s Facebook pages allows us to respond to this need and be in tune with today’s reality. We are now relying on these important tools to reach a new clientele and promote everything that the municipality has to offer, whether it be the plethora of events happening in Dorval, the Library’s interesting programming, an emergency situation that must be communicated to the public, and more.”
Whether you are a Dorval resident or not, all are invited to follow the City’s posts by clicking on the “Like” button on the City of Dorval’s Facebook page, as well as on the Dorval Library’s Facebook page.
Both pages will be managed during City Hall’s office hours, from Monday to Friday (except on public holidays), between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. In order to ensure a courteous and respectful ambiance, users are encouraged to consult the “netiquette”, which can be found under the “Learn More” tab.
