West Island Community Shares (WICS) Children’s Gala raised $57,000 to benefit more than 41 local community resources on the West Island.
Activities began at 11 am on Saturday, February 17 and went on until 3 pm. Fun family oriented activities such as face painting, a photo booth for families with printouts, and a dessert decorating station. Children were invited to dress up in their favorite costumes.
Ticket prices were also geared for families at $25 which included a boxed lunch and the main show.
The sold-out auditorium at Cégep Gérald Godin started at 1 pm with performances by the West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra followed by a performance by Cirque Éloize.
The event’s primary sponsors were the National Bank and McKesson Canada. President and Executive Officer of the National Bank, Louis Vachon was on hand to greet guests and present the donation cheque to Executive Director of West Island Community Shares for $57,000.
