British Columbia government has revealed a reopening plan that allows casino properties to restart as early as 1st July. In light of the reopening plan, casinos are making arrangements for the potential reopening this summer.
Chances Casino Kelowna has revealed its reopening plan. The gambling establishment closed down its operation in March 2020. The entity has closed for over a year, and no fan has set foot in the land-based gaming venue.
However, that is about to change with the new reopening plan. Chances Casino Kelowna has already reopened indoor dining services. Stan Walt, the owner of the establishment, says that the patio relaunching was to ease staff members back: and to reconnect with guests.
Walt says that the casinos have been renovated to comply with the new health safety measures. That includes decreasing the number of slot machines from 348 to 310. That provides enough space to maintain social distance when the venue finally reopens.
Walt expects that 60 percent of staff members return to their position. It is, however, unclear how many individuals have found a new occupation. Walt also expects to meet WorkSafeBC representatives to discuss new mandatory health and safety measures. Staff members are to undergo thorough training to enhance health and safety protocol.
It has been a difficult year following the suspension of gambling in the province. In March 2020, New Westminster Starlight Casino staff members posted a video with the message “Don’t forget about casino workers”. The video also featured a story of a single mother left without a job.
The View Royal town has also experienced unprecedented difficulties due to the lockdown. Mayor David Screech says that the region has greatly been affected by the casino closure. The region has lost CA$2 million in gambling revenue. Screech fears that reopening and normality will take time. In the meantime casino passionate can enjoy such games in online gambling sites.
