Car Crashes into Driving School, Pedestrian and Driver Injured

Minor injuries were sustained by a pedestrian and a driver when a car unpredictably careened into the Waterloo Region Driving School in New Hamburg. The regional police, who responded to the incident at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Monday, reported that the collision was initiated by a 46-year-old female driver.

The woman, police detailed, lost control of her vehicle in the parking lot, striking a pedestrian before crashing into two establishments in the plaza. Inquiries into what led to the mishap and the loss of the vehicle’s control are still ongoing.


The pedestrian, a 30-year-old, was hurriedly transported to the hospital to receive treatment for his non-critical injuries. The police announced that, as of now, no charges have been filed in relation to the incident.

The impact of the crash also extended to the neighboring Pet Valu store, resulting in product and shelving damages amounting to roughly $5,000. Witnesses from the Pet Valu reported that the pedestrian was hit right outside the entrance of their establishment.

Work crews were observed cleaning up the scattered debris and managing the mess that occurred on the crash’s site in the following afternoon.
