Australian golfer Cam Davis made a remarkable recovery during the second round of The Sentry Tournament in Hawaii, posting a nine-under 64 to climb into the tournament’s top 20. Davis, who had a difficult start, marked one of the best scores of the day, significantly improving his position on the leaderboard. Alongside fellow Australian Adam Scott, who also improved his standing with a solid performance, Davis now sits nine under halfway through the PGA Tour season opener.

Davis achieved nine birdies across the round, showcasing an impressive series of four birdies in succession from the fourth to the seventh hole, before adding another on the ninth. Despite a bogey on the 12th, Davis managed back-to-back birdies on both the 10th, 11th, 13th, and 14th holes, eventually closing with a birdie on the final hole. Scott, entering his 25th tour season, overcame initial bogeys to record multiple birdies on both the front and back nines, expressing determination to ascend the rankings once more.

Leading the board, Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama maintained his dominant position with a bogey-free eight-under 65, holding a narrow lead over America’s Collin Morikawa. Morikawa’s strong finish saw him earn five successive birdies, although he left a chance unused on the 18th. Third place is shared by Maverick McNealy, Corey Conners of Canada, and Thomas Detry of Belgium, who all posted commendable scores to secure their positions.

The tournament continues to show intense competition as players like Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark deliver remarkable rounds, both hitting a 64 to share a position in the top ten. Notably, several players carded impressive performances marking the day as one filled with exceptional golfing feats as the PGA Tour season kicks off.
