It is January, and it is coooollllllddddd. I miss my BBQ. A lot. One of my favorite meals on the Q is a simple hamburger. Nothing crazy. I like to enjoy the simplicity of a hamburger with traditional fixings, tomato, lettuce, cheese, onion, sauce, much like the Classic Burger at BurgerTown.
My new friend Chelsea invited me to lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised to be introduced to this burger spot that opened up in June 2015. I am not sure how I have missed this place but am I ever glad I know about it now. The BEST I have had on the West Island by far.
Located in the Dorval village, their gourmet selection has a great variety from beef burgers to chicken burgers and vegetarian burgers. They also have the gluten free option of lettuce as a bun. All made fresh in house. The owner, Luigi explained that nothing is frozen and all sauces are made on site.
I chose the Classic as I was trying to connect with my inner summer sided with their classic poutine that was voted number one by MTLBLOG last year for West Island poutine. My burger did not disappoint. It held all that one would expect in a classic burger. It was stacked so high it had to be held in place with a very large toothpick and a dill pickle. There was no way I could have eaten it all.
There were sweet potato fries on the menu which I would like to try next time and beer battered onion rings. WHAT???? I will certainly be back for more.
BurgerTown has a full liquor license and a plethora of specialty coffee choices to blend with your experience. There is a flat screen TV ready for hockey night should you be looking for a great place to hang out.
