
Law enforcement officials in Barrie are currently probing into an alleged hit-and-run, which ensued when an SUV swiftly exited a parking slot and ran into another vehicle, inflicting injuries on its motorist.
The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday at approximately 2 p.m. in a parking facility situated on Bayfield Street, situated to the south of Heather Street. According to the police, as the SUV was making its exit from the car park, it collided with a red vehicle which was stationary in the northward-turning lane and ready to turn onto Heather Street. The white SUV was then observed to have sped off on Bayfield Street at an alarming velocity before veering south towards Highway 400.
As a result of the collision, the motorist of the red automobile was admitted to a hospital with injuries that were thankfully not life-threatening.
Witnesses describe the SUV driver as a blond male, who could possibly be aged somewhere between 20 to 30. Reports suggest there may have been another man occupying the passenger’s seat at the time of the incident.
The vehicle in question, believed to be a make of General Motors, is expected to have sustained significant front-end damages as per the police.
