Police are actively searching for two suspects following an attempted bank robbery at a BMO branch on Upper Paradise Road in Hamilton, which unfolded just before Christmas. The bizarre chain of events began when a man approached the bank on a bicycle, leaving it outside as he entered. He allegedly demanded money from a teller, suggesting he was armed. However, when bank employees confronted him, he left without any cash.

Upon attempting to escape, the would-be robber discovered his getaway bike had been stolen by another individual. Police described this person as a male wearing all black. The thwarted robber, visibly startled, was last observed fleeing north on Upper Paradise Road and was seen at Elmwood Avenue’s intersection.

Hamilton police urge anyone with information about the incident, the identity of the robbery suspect, or the individual who took the bicycle to come forward. The robbery suspect is characterized as being between five feet four and five feet eight inches tall, dressed in a long, multi-coloured scarf, black sunglasses, a blue face mask, a black jacket, black gloves, pants, and white shoes. Anyone with details is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
