Beaurepaire Village holds Artisan Fair

In keeping with holding other successful outdoor activities designed to raise the profile of Beaurepaire Village such as the Summer Madness Festival, Pet Fair and Halloween Fun Run, the Beaurepaire Village Merchants Association will be holding its first ever Artisan Fair on Saturday, June 21, during the afternoon.

And like the other events in the village, the upcoming fair will be donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to NOVA West Island. More than 40 artists from around the West Island will be showcasing their wares that include pottery, jewelry, garden art and stained glass.

Event organizer Hilarie Harubin always knew that there were artistic and talented people in the West Island but even she was surprised by how many artists came through. “We had to put the cut off at 50 due to room, but are hoping to make this a yearly event,” Harubin told The Suburban.

“We believe that people want the village shopping experience but you have to give people a reason to go,” said Harubin, noting that the idea to host an artisan fair goes together with the art schools and supply shops available in the village.

“There are so many talented artists out there and we are happy to give them a chance to exhibit their goods,” said Harubin. “If shoppers are looking for unique and quality, one of a kind items, we’ve got them covered.”

The first annual Beaurepaire Village Artisan Fair is taking place on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In case if rain, the fair will take place on Sunday instead. For details, call [514] 222-0217.
