The 6th annual Bâton Rouge Gastronomy Event packed the house again this year with more than 200 people in attendance.  The event is always fulfilled with tasty food and good spirit from the lively group.

The silent auction with 37 various items to enchant the participants held jewelry, an iHome clock, and most notably the grand prize: a Judith Ripka necklace valued at more than $ 1,000.  There were two raffle gift baskets as well.

“We are particularly grateful to our hosts, the owners of the restaurant Bâton Rouge Steakhouse

& Bar in DDO for their hospitality and their tremendous generosity. Thanks to their donation of

food, alcoholic beverages, and service, all proceeds collected during the evening will be directly

reinvested in health care in the West-Island community, “said Ms. Heather Holmes, Managing

director of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.

Ms. Holmes and Dr. Fiore Lalla, Co-Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, took

advantage of the event to present the Humanitarian Award to Mr. Nick Di Tomaso, for his

exceptional contribution to the betterment of the West-Island community for a quarter of a

century, by way of his time, his commitment, and his passion.
