I truly enjoyed this family-friendly breakfast restaurant. Typical of any breakfast joint worth its salt, you can expect a lineup. My daughter Alex and I arrived with Mason at 8:45 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. Not one seat was left at 9:05 and the lineup grew and grew. They don’t take reservations.Arthur's Nosh Bar, Montreal, West Island news, West Island Blog, Breakfast, Brunch, Beyond the Wild Wild West, Rhonda Massad, Montreal Grandma

The menu is varied. From organic gravlax, matzo ball soup, schnitzel to a latke smorgasbord, challah grilled cheese. You can, of course, go with the classic bagel/lox/cream cheese if you don’t feel adventurous. Mason’s breakfast included ricotta pancakes with maple syrup that were mouth watering. He was thrilled when he was allowed to eat a cookie with icing and colorful sprinkles. We took six to go!

I chose scrambled eggs with a press challah roll and latke with applesauce and sour cream. Really good. I will be trying the cinnamon babka next time.

The space is well lit and in a funky part of Griffintown. We did not have too much trouble getting there early on Saturday morning. The cones always make it a challenge, but it was well worth it.
