Appointment of members of the Board of Directors of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal

Board of Directors of the CIUSSS

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Mr Gaétan Barrette, and the Minister for Rehabilitation, Youth Protection and Public Health, Ms Lucie Charlebois, announced today the appointment of the Chair, of the ten independent persons as well as the two representatives identified by the affiliated universities who will sit on the Board of Directors of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île- de-Montréal).

With this latest step in the designation process now completed, the composition of the Board of Directors of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal is now finalized. The term of office of the Board is three years.

“I know that our Board of Directors will provide the leadership we need to continue reorganizing the health care and social services of our CIUSSS. Thanks to each member’s recognized expertise, the Board will work on concrete ways to improve the access, continuity and flow of care and services provided to the population that we serve. I want to sincerely congratulate all members and thank them in advance for their dedication,” stated Benoit Morin, President and CEO of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de- Montréal.

The Board of Directors of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal was created from a process that all health and social services institutions in Québec carried out over the previous weeks to appoint the members of their respective boards.

As per An Act to modify the organization and governance of the health and social services network, in particular by abolishing the regional agencies, the Board of Directors of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal will be composed of:

The Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de l’Ouest-de- l’Île-de-Montréal is made up of the CSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île, CSSS de Dorval-Lachine- LaSalle, St. Mary’s Hospital, Douglas Mental Health University Institute, West Montreal Readaptation Centre, Grace Dart Extended Care Centre, and Batshaw Youth and Family Centres. It employs 9,000 staff members and 750 physicians.
