Anima by EDO, a Spanish fusion culinary haven, has been crowned as the pinnacle of gastronomy in the United States by Yelp in its 2023 accolade retrospect. The heralded restaurant, poised eloquently atop the list of 25 distinct dining establishments, has set its roots across 14 states to bring a vibrant taste of Spanish flair.
This commendation comes on the heels of Anima by EDO’s Chef Oscar Amador being distinguished as a finalist for the prestigious James Beard Awards earlier in March, further cementing the establishment’s reputation for excellence.
Yelp’s meticulous selection process for this honor included only those restaurants launched in the period from January 1, 2022, to August 7, 2023. Each contender was required to possess an impeccable health score as of August 7 and was assessed based on the volume and ratings of user-submitted reviews.
Nestled in the burgeoning culinary landscape of southwest Las Vegas, at 9205 W. Russell Road, Anima by EDO unfurled its doors under the mastery of Chef Oscar Amador, a seasoned finalist of the James Beard Awards himself, in January 2022.
As the restaurant reels in deserved applause, it shares the limelight with The Bedford by Martha Stewart at Paris Las Vegas, which also graced the Yelp list, taking a noteworthy place at No. 22.
While Yelp’s rankings offer insight into gastronomic excellence across an array of categories, it found Nevada’s top cheeseburger not in a traditional burger venue but rather ensconced within the eclectic Eggslut inside the Cosmopolitan.
The restaurant landscape is ever dynamic, underscored by the recent closures evidenced by the Southern Nevada Health District. These included Tacos de Guiso on East Tropicana Avenue and Tacos La Carreta on West Flamingo Road. Similarly, Bourbon St. Parade, a New Orleans-inspired establishment, saw its curtains draw shortly after arrival. Meanwhile, the enigmatic departure of DDT Bar from Brooklyn was revealed to be a prelude to its rebirth at a new location in downtown Las Vegas, bestowing upon the city’s vibrant dining and entertainment scene yet another gem.
