
Alberta has reported less than 100 hospitalizations for the first time in 9 months. As at the most recent update, there is an additional 98 persons receiving treatment in hospital for COVID-19, and this figure includes 27 who are under intensive care.
Last Tuesday, health officials reported 69 new infections and two fatalities. So far, Alberta has had 2318 death since the pandemic started.
Labs tasked with testing for COVID-19 performed 50101 tests last Monday, and reported a 1.24 positivity rate. Health officials also said they reported 17 instances of variants of concern.
The provincial active caseload has been steady so far, only rising by a single case in the last 600 days.
As at the end of Monday, approximately 74.8 percent of all persons eligible for immunization have received at least a single shot, while 60 percent have received both jabs.
