The province of Alberta reported 678 new infection last Wednesday, the highest figure since the 20th of May.
Health officials reported two more deaths, placing the total fatality at 2338.
The new infections were singled out after health officials ran 9215 tests, whose positivity rate was 7.68 percent. Alberta’s labs have also recorded 285 infections of variants of concern.
Active infections have gone up to 5933 in the province, a rise of 306 over the previous figures.
Alberta Health said 73.44 percent of active cases have not received immunization, while 12.15 percent have had a single jab, while 14.41 have had both shots.
Hospitalizations from the virus have continued to rise across the province. Currently, Alberta has 184 people hospitalized, including 48 who are receiving intensive care.
Currently, 81.52 percent of the people in hospital have not been immunized, 13.04 percent have had one had two jabs while 5.43 percent have received a single shot.
As of the most recent update, 77 percent of the people eligible for immunization have received at least a shot, while 68.2 percent are fully immunized.
