Next month, the partner of Ahmad Alameddine, an alleged affiliate of the Alameddine crime family, will stand in court in order to provide a plea in regards to her series of charges. Jade Heffer, 28, was noticeably absent from a recent hearing in Burwood Local Court, just one week following her Supreme Court bail approval.
Ms. Heffer, who had spent a harrowing seven weeks in remand, was apprehended when her partner made an audacious escape during a raid at their Greenacre residence in south west Sydney earlier this year.
Mr. Alameddine, in a desperate attempt to dodge the authorities, reputedly leapt over the garden fence of their Narellan Crescent property. Following this, Ms. Heffer and Susan, Mr. Alameddine’s older sister, found themselves under arrest at a local service station.
At a Supreme Court bail hearing held beforehand, Justice Natalie Adams revealed that the women were alleged to have given conflicting and fabricated accounts of Mr. Alameddine’s location, further supporting him in the subsequent days.
Ms. Heffer faces a serious charge sheet that includes impeding a police officer in the prosecutorial duty and obstructing the capture of an individual who has perpetrated a severe crime. She is also accused of gun possession without a license, and possession whilst under a firearms prohibition order.
During police questioning, Ms. Heffer, by her own admission, confessed of having “handled” a firearm. However, the admissibility of her confession may still be scrutinized during court proceedings.
Her representation in court this past Wednesday was solicitor Mostafa Daoudie. Reports indicate that she will have to give her plea when she appears in Bankstown Court next month.
Ms. Heffer is also known as the widow of the late Yusuf Nazlioglu, a bikie of the Lone Wolf gang who was brutally murdered in a parking lot in Rhodes last year. The court has learned that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder subsequent to the violent incident.
Last week, Supreme Court granted Ms. Heffer bail under stringent conditions obligating her to reside with her parents in a small country town near the NSW/Victoria border.
Susan Alameddine has asserted innocence in relation to the charges brought against her. Meanwhile, Mr. Alameddine was arrested on October 5, following an extensive manhunt, and now faces a litany of five charges.
