He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In a press release Thursday, officers said they believe the two teenagers did not know each other but became embroiled in an argument at convenience store in the area.

The argument soared and resulted in Donkey being shot, officers say.

The suspect was 17 at the time of the incident but has since turned 18, the Winnipeg Police Service’s statement said.

The man is now detained in custody.
