The city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux is preparing a new Urban Planning Programme that will define how the city grows over time and what policies will be in place to support local economic growth and guide the physical development and evolution of the community over the next 10 to 15 years. The purpose of this Programme is to position the city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux to be flexible, dynamic and, above all, a city where people want to live, work and play.
To ensure that the needs and aspirations of the greatest number of residents are reflected in the new Urban Planning Programme, the City has chosen a participatory and inclusive approach. Until March 25, 2020, residents are encouraged to participate in the first phase of the consultation process by completing the confidential Community Engagement Survey available on the City’s website at www.ville.ddo.qc.ca/en/survey. Paper copies are also available at the library, City Hall and the Urban Planning and Engineering Department.
The city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux has changed dramatically since it was incorporated in 1960. This year, the City will reach a population of more than 50,000 people. Our needs are evolving, change is accelerating. Resiliency and adaptability are needed while focusing on the quality of life of our residents.
“The time has come to develop an Urban Planning Programme that defines the future of our territory and responds to the social, economic and environmental realities of our community, while encompassing a vision that we all share for our community.” – Mayor Alex Bottausci
Other consultation activities will be organized in 2020. To stay informed, residents are invited to consult the webpage dedicated to the Urban Planning Programme https://ville.ddo.qc.ca/en.
