Winnipeg girl under the age of 10 has died from COVID-19. The girl lived in the Winnipeg health region and any additional information related to her has not been released yet. Her death has brought Manitoba’s total number of COVID-19 deaths to 1,139.
The province of Manitoba has reported 97 new COVID-19 cases. Most of these cases are from the Winnipeg region (50), while the rest are split among the Northern Health Region (16), the Interlake-Eastern health region (14), the Southern Health region (12), and the Prairie Mountain Health region (5).
The number of positive patients rose to 6.5 percent, up from 6.1 on Saturday. For now, 193 Manitobans have been hospitalized with COVID-19. Of those 193 patients, 64 have been placed in the intensive care.
Manitoba’s online vaccine dashboard has recently announced that 36.6 percent of Manitobans over age 12 have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while the number of those with one dose sits at 72.7 percent. The release also stated that, since the pandemic started 55,975 Manitobans have tested positive for COVID-19. Of those 55,975 people, 1,480 are deemed active while 53,356 are considered recovered.
