The Centre universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Montréal West Island IUHSSC) urgently needs foster families on the Island of Montréal for children between 0 and 17 years old who are receiving English services under the Youth Protection Act or the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services.
The Montréal West Island IUHSSC has immediate need of beds for young children from 0 to 5 years old, for children aged 5 to 12, and for adolescents aged 12 to 17. These children may have experienced difficulties in their family environment, whether it is negligence, rejection, physical or sexual abuse. We are looking for homes who could receive one child as well as families able to receive sibling groups of 2 or 3 children.
We need homes from all racial, cultural, and religious communities, as we are committed to matching children with foster environments of similar ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds whenever possible. We are especially looking for foster families from the Indigenous, Black, Southeast Asian, and Muslim communities.
If you are English-speaking and reside on the Island of Montréal, have a love of children and time to devote to them, adequate physical space to accommodate a child or youth, and your lifestyle complies with raising children, you could make a significant difference in a child’s life. Singles, couples, and families can all foster children. To learn more about becoming a foster parent, please call: 514 989-1885, extension 1139.
