The recent lottery draw presented a night of excitement and near triumphs despite no one clinching the massive top prize. Held on Tuesday, August 6, the Lotto Max draw boasted an impressive $70 million prize pool. The winning numbers—07, 12, 13, 30, 38, 46, 48, and bonus number 28—proved elusive, leaving the jackpot unclaimed. However, the evening still saw its share of winners walking away with substantial amounts of money.
Five participants closely approached the jackpot by matching six of the seven winning numbers along with the bonus number. Though they missed out on the top prize, each will receive a considerable six-figure sum. According to PlayNow, Atlantic Lottery, and OLG, the winning tickets were distributed across several locations: one in Abbotsford, BC; one within Western Canada; one in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador; and two in Ontario, specifically Kawartha Lakes and Oshawa. Each of these fortunate lottery players is now $212,121 richer.
But the streak of luck didn’t end there. The draw also included 34 Maxmillions prizes, which led to six players across Canada becoming millionaires. The million-dollar winning tickets were sold in Kingston, Ontario; Mississauga, Ontario; Western Canada; Maple Ridge, BC; and two in Québec.
Additionally, two Maxmillions prizes were divided among four winners. One ticket bought on OLG.ca shared the prize with a winner in Québec, while another set of two tickets sold in Québec also shared a prize. These winners each walked away with $500,000.
Though there were no winners for the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize in BC or the $1 million Encore prize in Ontario, hope remains high for future draws. OLG announced in a release, “There are more winning chances for the next Lotto Max draw on Friday, August 9, 2024, with the $70 million jackpot plus an estimated 37 Maxmillions prizes. That’s an incredible $107 million in top prizing available for the next draw!”
