Villeray Park redevelopment adds courts, exercise area and rainwater basin
The completed redesign includes two lit basketball courts, an outdoor exercise area, a short running track and stormwater infrastructure.

The redevelopment of Parc Villeray is complete after work that began in fall 2025, the borough says. Construction finished in late September 2026.
The renewed park includes two lit basketball courts, an outdoor exercise area, a 100-metre two-lane sprint track, loop paths, table-tennis and pétanque facilities, and space for winter skating rinks. The project also added entrances, bicycle racks, inclusive furnishings, lighting, misting equipment, a shelter and an updated dog area.
Seventy-one trees and about 600 perennials were added. Below ground, rainwater infiltration works and a retention basin are designed to reduce pressure on the sewer network and lower flood risk during heavy rain.
