The Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance will receive $192,000 in federal funding over two years to support its national programming and engagement work.

Canadian Heritage announced the award on October 2 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. The support is split evenly, with $96,000 allocated for 2027–28 and another $96,000 for 2028–29.

The department says the funding will support the alliance’s biannual Intertribal Gathering, other programming and ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for Indigenous performing arts.

Canadian Heritage describes the alliance as a national, member-driven arts service organization. Its current membership includes 237 individual Indigenous artists, 22 Indigenous organizations and 40 allied organizations and individuals.
